2) Schering-Plough Europe withdraws its marketing authorisation application for Zenhale (mometasone furoate/formoterol fumarate). This combination product is approved in USA as Dulera. Note: the Patent covering this product recently revoked in India IN 202350 (IN/PCT/01/1168/CHE) assigned to Novartis (patentcircle).

3) Australia: Wyeth Effexor(Venlafaxine) Patent is held Valid and it is infringed by Sigma Pharma: Patent in suit was 2003259586 (extended release formulation) (Decision)

4) Merck will soon report advanced trial results of anacetrapib (CETP inhibitors) for heart diseases. Pfizer’s torcetrapib (from same class) drug development was abandoned due to deaths. (Bloomberg)
